: A later summary

A summary of the later period

First of all, thank you all for your suggestions.

This time I mainly want to talk about the so-called "water".

I am actually very clear and know that everyone wants to watch the climax all the time, but climax always requires foreplay, and no one can climax all the time.

Every time I write a volume, I will be criticized at the beginning, and then from the middle to the end of each volume, the evaluation will go up all the way. Especially from the tenth volume, I started to write in a small volume. It has always been like this, over and over again, never ending. exception.

What is the reason? Foreshadowing, the foreshadowing stage is never good, even if the master Shirogane writes it, it is no exception.

But foreshadowing can never be lacking.

At the beginning of Volume 10, "The Road to Heaven", I spent a lot of space describing various geniuses, so that everyone can gradually accept the definition of geniuses at all levels, especially the strongest geniuses, as well as super geniuses such as Zhushan and Wuchang. Wait, several people have dedicated descriptions, and the writing is very slow, but when it comes to actually entering the Heavenly Road of the Universe, I think the writing is very straightforward, especially entering the second stage, and finally winning the holy title of Tianjiao is all done in one go.

Volume 11, ‘The Strongest Star Lord’, this volume is relatively average as a whole. It can be regarded as the transition from ordinary life to the life of the river. The final stage is the test of the Taoist successor.

The twelfth volume, "The Road to Dominance", is similar to the tenth volume. First, the Qi Refining Lord bursts out the first-level strength of the Dominion through various external forces. It depicts the power and rarity of the Dominion in the universe and starry sky from many aspects. In essence, these It was all a preparation for the second half of this volume when the body-refining deity became a candidate for the Tao Master, and then the joy of killing a large number of monarchs and masters broke out.

Volume 13, this volume is just a preparation at the beginning, and it is also considered boring by various comments, but it is the ending of the previous Yuhe volume, like writing about Hou Tong in the ancient world, including giving away treasures, etc., in a sense They are all foreshadowings and endings, including writing about the Lord of Beizhen and the Demon Emperors one after another, all for Wu Yuan's ultimate explosion and the creation of a myth.

At the end of this volume, Wu Yuan first defeated the Jinqu Demon Emperor, killed the Nine Demon Emperors, and faced the Red Rhyme Saint for the first time, revealing his incredible material defense.

In the final battle, break through directly and take the initiative to defeat the two saints until they kill eternity.

The whole process only took six or seven chapters, which can be said to be completed in one go. Many readers may even think that Wu Yuan broke through too quickly and stood at the pinnacle of dominance in one fell swoop.

But the reason why it is so fast in the back is because there is enough preparation in the front and all kinds of foils are there.

Now, we have written the fourteenth volume of "The Myth of the Long River".

Some readers may also want to ask, the thirteenth volume has been written as "The Myth of the Chang He", why is the name of this volume still "The Myth of the Chang He"? This is because some powerful people in history have already done it in the previous Myth of the Chang He, and Wu Yuan wants to What we are doing is unprecedented and the only 'myth of the long river'.

Similarly, this volume is also a link between the past and the future, connecting to the final chapter of the Nine Realms of Time and Space. This is also directly named in the introduction as 'the supreme one in the Nine Realms, named Tianzun'. The entire world framework concept has been written from the beginning.

At the same time, regarding the nine realms of time and space, there have been many foreshadowing descriptions before, and they were not written very abruptly.

To give a few examples, Taiyuan Zhensheng once talked about the ‘Sword Yan Yuyu Territory’.

In the dialogue between Luanjiang Ancestral Witch and Houtu Ancestral Witch, Jiuhuang Yuyu was mentioned.

In the conversation between Hou Tu Zuwu and Dijiang Zuwu, Emperor Yantuo and Guyuyu were mentioned. Dijiang Zuwu went to Guyuyu to invite Emperor Yantuo to attend a major event.

This is why Emperor Yantuo is extremely famous in eternity, but countless masters in the Lingjiang universe have never heard of him, because he rose in the ancient universe, not the central universe.

Such as the Abyss Alliance, Innate Eternal Life, etc., have been described in the previous volume or even the previous volumes through the dialogues of various characters. They are all small foreshadowing, preparing for the eventual introduction of the map of the Nine Realms without being too abrupt.

There are also some foreshadowings, such as the pursuit of "illusory world and all wishes come true" mentioned by Hou Tu Zuwu, and the use of reincarnation to attract many people like Wu Yuan from the original middle school, as well as the Yuhe layer that I just wrote about. , the sea level, and what Saint Zuo Zai said: "The original level that no one can set foot on, it is not even the holy one." The original level, time and space have completely lost their meaning. These descriptions are very inconspicuous and seem to be the so-called Meaningless water, but in fact, it is gradually paving the way for the final chapter.

This novel is biased towards "Bai Shuangwen", but many foreshadowings and descriptions are laid down very early, even though most book lovers may not care about it.

Volume 14 starts at a slow pace because it takes a lot of time to write and describe the power structure of the entire nine realms of time and space, as well as some contradictory clues.

Like the Eight Realms Alliance, just mention it now so that book friends can have a rough impression.

The most important thing in opening the book is the status difference between the powerful at each level of eternity. Including writing this banquet is to more intuitively describe the number of innate eternal lives, as well as the difference in strength and status between the Lord, the Immortal, the Saint, and the True Saint.

Write everything clearly, and then write about the battle later. Only by taking risks and breaking through can you go into battle lightly.

At the same time, when writing about the opponent of a force, just say that the other party belongs to several forces in the region and sea. Book friends will know it at once, and there is no need to say anything else.

If you don’t write anything and directly write about the so-called adventure battles, many setting things will still have to be written specifically, and even more space will be consumed. They will have to be mentioned repeatedly, which has advantages and disadvantages.

Only when the foreshadowing at the beginning of each volume is over can the plot advance speed start to become faster. This kind of slow first and then faster, advancing the plot in waves from volume to volume, is my writing mode and habit. I know that it may not be acceptable to all readers. , but it is a limit within the scope of my ability.

In fact.

Many old readers have told me that the last "Hongzhu" was better in the later stages and the plot progressed faster, but sometimes I really want to say that in a sense it belongs to the "old book filter".

This book has really evolved a lot, but the speed of evolution may not keep up with the progress of book friends.

I have a vivid memory. In the last book "Hong Zhu", I wrote ten chapters in one go through the nine heavenly tribulations. It took me maybe four or five days to write. It can be said that there was no plot advancement in these ten chapters. It was just the process of overcoming the tribulation. If there are old readers who don’t believe it, you can read it. I often write two or three chapters about a realm breakthrough. At that time, some book friends also criticized it, but it was not so serious.

Therefore, in the last few volumes of "Yuan Tianzun", things have gradually begun to change. Especially since the eleventh volume, I have tried to change many writing methods. For example, in the second half of the previous volume, I wrote about Wu Yuan's breakthroughs one after another and his understanding of different tricks. I have tried to simplify and abbreviate the process as much as possible, because I know that readers are not very interested in these.

Writing about the treasures obtained, just write down the key points without going into more details. It’s just that every book is like life. The early stage is like boyhood. It is best to write when it is the most malleable. It is all blank paper and can be freely used. The later stage is like old age, which is the hardest to write and the most difficult to give birth to. The traces of the past will affect the book. Now, the framework is already fixed, and a slight change may cause a chain reaction and lead to collapse.

Hence, many local frameworks have been set. Even if I have better ideas, I cannot overturn them. I can only improve them as much as possible.

I wrote "Hantian Emperor" from 17 to 20 years ago, which took three or four years to write. I wrote "Hongzhu" from 20 to 22 years ago, which took more than two years. During this process, short videos gradually emerged, but they have not evolved to where they are today. , and during this time, the online writing industry has also undergone earth-shaking changes.

The writing style and type have all undergone amazing changes.

System, data panel, point addition, roulette lottery, progress bar, skills, etc. have basically replaced the original writing mode.

But I have always been one of the ‘conservatives’.

What impressed me most was when I was writing "Hongzhu", I once chatted in an author group and gave some advice to several new authors. As a result, I was told that "an old antique who writes biographies will definitely be eliminated in the next book, so don't be blind." I gave advice to others, but it was all wrong advice, which gave me great stimulation.

"Yuan Tian Zun" is still considered a traditional fantasy book, or the three books I wrote all fall into the category of traditional fantasy.

In fact, among the top 100 best-selling books in Qidian, there are really not many books that still insist on writing traditional fantasy fairy tales and can still write some achievements. Many great authors in this category either have poor results in their new books or Start transforming.

The core reason is that the pace of traditional fantasy fairy tales is slow, and a storyline requires a lot of space to lay out the origin and process, which is unacceptable to many readers today.

People are more accustomed to "watching a movie in three minutes" and "watching the beginning and climax of the story in fifteen seconds."

This kind of story, which takes a month to complete the origin, process, and climax of each volume, was fast ten years ago, but it is very slow today.

Sometimes, I myself feel very emotional. At that time, masters like Jin Yong and Gu Long promoted martial arts novels, which was the trend at that time. Since the 1980s and 1990s, martial arts has gradually declined. In the new century, traditional fantasy fairy tales have basically replaced traditional martial arts in online novels. In the past five years, the traditional fantasy fairy tale has gradually been replaced and has become increasingly declining, and has begun to approach the status of martial arts in the past.

I believe that all book lovers can also feel this. If you want to find new fantasy fairy tale books without a system, you can hardly find them, or if you find them, they are easy to find. Most of the time, you can only read old books.

I am never sentimental, this is the process of the times.

In the next book, I probably won’t stick to pure traditional fantasy.

Living in the torrent of the times, if you do not have the ability to control the tide, you can only drift with the tide and try your best to grab a piece of dead wood in the torrent, so that you will be drowned later.

Although "Yuan Tianzun" was only written for a year, with more than three million words, a lot of experience and lessons have been accumulated.

I say so much not to explain or excuse myself.

The core reason is that many of the written contents do not meet the needs of current book lovers, and if they are not improved, they will definitely be abandoned.

The reason why it has not been abandoned is because some content is still loved by everyone.

only.

I still hope that book friends can be more patient. This book plus this volume should only have about 3 volumes left.

Writing to this level is considered a late stage. It is difficult to make major changes to the overall writing method, and can only be fine-tuned.

I will listen to some suggestions, such as "reduce breakthrough details and reduce environmental descriptions." These descriptions were originally intended to increase realism, but now they have been basically deleted.

There is also something like "reducing the shock of less important personnel", which was originally intended to increase the sense of refreshment, but now a lot of it has been cut off.

But there are still some suggestions that I can only ignore, just like a building is about to be topped out. At this time, even if the floor layout is unreasonable or the balcony of the apartment is in the wrong direction, it can no longer be changed.

The pace of each volume will be faster in the follow-up, but it is impossible to completely cut off the groundwork.

As an author, my personal suggestion is that if you feel that the pace of preparation in the early stages of each volume is slow, you can wait until the entire volume is completed before reading it as a whole.

Because it is indeed impossible to have a climax in each chapter.

Every time I finish a volume, I read it all 1-2 times to judge what areas are still missing. I personally feel that since the tenth volume, the fluency and completion of each volume are still good.

There is indeed a big difference between reading serially and reading the entire volume.

Secondly, I am very aware of another point, which is the difference in update speed. If it is the peak period, several chapters may be updated a day, which can complete the preparation process at once.

But now, especially this month, I really can’t do it. This year’s high-intensity serialization has almost completely destroyed my body. I have been to the hospital three times this month. The doctor’s advice is to stay in the hospital and recuperate for a while.

Now I have been adjusting my schedule and status to see if there will be another outbreak next month, and also to see how my status will be in the next few days at the end of the month.

That’s all.

Thank you all for your support along the way, and I pay my respects to Fengxian.
