Chapter 6 A first try at magic
That night, Albert showed his new Hogwarts uniform to his family. It was an ordinary black plain work robe and a black pointed hat, nothing special.
If I have to say it, it looks stupid, especially that **** pointed hat. Wearing it on your head when you go out for a walk will definitely have a good rate of turning heads, at least that's what Albert thinks.
Nia was very satisfied with her gift. She was wearing a cloak that was much larger than her own and a black pointed hat on her head. She was posing in the living room. Herb took a photo of the two of them with a camera.
Daisy was sitting on the sofa, silently flipping through Albert's History of Magic. She wanted to know more about where her son was about to go.
“Mom, look, it’s a living chocolate frog!” Nia opened the packaging box of the chocolate frog and couldn’t help but giggle when she saw the chocolate frog jumping away.
Herb already had experience, so he quickly reached out to grab the chocolate frog that fell on the table, and handed it to Nia.
Then, Herb opened another box, which also contained a chocolate frog. He quickly grabbed the chocolate frog and handed it to Daisy, who was flipping through the book carefully.
“Is this thing really edible?” Daisy raised her eyebrows and looked at the living chocolate frog in front of her suspiciously, doubting whether it was safe to eat.
“Mom, the chocolate frog is edible, it tastes very good!” Nia had bitten off the head of the chocolate frog and was very happy to eat it, with some melted chocolate still on her face.
"Okay, wipe your face clean, like a little tabby cat!" Albert handed his handkerchief to Nia, turned his head to look at Tom who was confronting the owl, picked it up, and placed it next to the sofa. , he raised his chin and urged, "Tom, don't bully it."
Albert took out the owl nuts from the package, poured some on the plate in the cage, and murmured: "What should I call them?"
“Jerry.”
Albert thought for a while and gave this snowy owl this name.
Tom and Jerry.
Although there is no Tom and Jerry cartoon in this world, Albert thinks the name is quite funny.
Snowy owl seemed to sense the malice of its master and did not react to Jerry.
“Albert, your name is so unpleasant!” Nia reached out and picked up the owl, rubbed her face and said, “It should be called Sheila, it’s a good name.”
“Why not call it Celebi?” Albert thought wickedly.
“Albert, the person in the picture suddenly disappeared!” Herb was surprised to find that the person in the chocolate frog picture had disappeared.
“Photograph?” Albert looked at his father, who was holding a picture of a chocolate frog.
“Perhaps, photos of wizards can move in the first place? Chocolate frogs can move, so why can’t the characters in the photos move?”
"That's right!" Herb accepted this explanation. He turned the picture over and read the text on the back: "Albus Dumbledore... is currently the Headmaster of Hogwarts and is recognized as the greatest wizard of our time."
“Oh, that’s the old man who sent the letter to Albert.” Daisy took the chocolate frog picture from her husband, wanting to see who sent the invitation letter to her son.
Unfortunately, the picture is empty.
Daisy turned over the chocolate frog picture and continued to read the rest, "Dumbledore's well-known contributions include: defeating the dark wizard Grindelwald in 1945, discovering the twelve uses of dragon's blood, and working with his partner Nico · Flamel was very effective in alchemy. Professor Dumbledore was fond of chamber music and ten-pin bowling.”
"The famous alchemist in the 14th century." Albert added: "He created the legendary magic stone. It is said that the magic stone can turn stone into gold and can make people immortal. If he is still alive, it means that the magic stone can make people immortal." Nico Flamel is immortal.”
"Okay Daisy, be happy." Herb put his arms around his wife and comforted softly, "The situation is not as bad as you think, especially when we don't understand the magical world yet, it's best not to take it easy. Make a judgment, and you should believe that our son is a genius and can use his talents wherever he goes."
"By the way, Albert, can you use magic?" Nia rushed towards Albert, grabbed his hand, and shook it gently like a baby, looking at Albert expectantly, "I I want to see you do magic.”
"This... I have to study it first, I don't know how to use it now." Albert stretched out his hand to mess up Nia's hair.
“Disgusting.” Nia covered her head, ran to Daisy, and shared the pumpkin pie with her.
Albert began to look through Miranda Gorshak's "Standard Spells, Elementary", then took out the wand from the box and prepared to make his first spell-casting attempt.
"Don't, Albert, don't try it here!" Herb's face twitched, thinking about what happened in the wand shop earlier.
"You should have some confidence in your son!" Albert raised his wand and tapped it gently, whispering the incantation: "Luminescence flashes."
The tip of the wand flickered suddenly, then went out again.
“Just now, the top of the cane flashed, right?” Daisy said uncertainly.
"Yes, it flashed. He is indeed my son!" Herb found that Albert could use magic immediately, with undisguised pride on his face.
“Albert, what was that just now?” Nia asked excitedly.
“Well, it’s a luminous spell. It should be one of the easier spells to master. I’m giving it a try.” Albert secretly checked his panel, and sure enough he found that there was a luminous spell in the skill list.
The spell is still at level 0, but has gained 7 experience points.
Only when you reach level 1 can you truly master it. It only takes 100 experience points to go from level 0 to level 1, but Albert has no intention of using the stored precious experience to upgrade the luminous spell to level 1. Even 100 experience points are still quite valuable.
"I'll try again." Albert cleared his throat and recited the spell again, and the top of the wand emitted a pale light again.
Albert tried five times in total before he could barely master the spell. He only needed a little concentration and the light on the wand would not disappear easily.
Seeing this scene, the other three couldn't help but applaud. Although it was just a simple glowing spell, in the eyes of the Anderson family, it was quite remarkable.
“Albert, Albert, let me try, I want to give it a try too.” Nia excitedly rushed towards her brother.
"No." Albert quickly put away his wand, "At least, you can't play here, you know? The last time I tried a wand, I almost blew up the counter of that wand shop."
"mean."
"This is not a matter of being stingy. The wand itself is very dangerous, and I don't understand anything. What should I do if I encounter danger." Albert immediately put on his face and showed his trump card, "If Nia is so willful, I will I won’t teach you how to use magic.”
"Albert is right." Herb said quickly, "You should wait until he is familiar with magic before teaching you."
“Okay!” Nia pouted dissatisfiedly, but still compromised, but she looked a little disappointed. She was envious of Albert’s ability to use magic.
"Your grandfather plans to come over in the next two days. However, I think it is best for us to visit them together to avoid having to run around again." Herb left some candies and gifts from the magical world. He knew that his father might Won't eat them, but he must be happy to see them.
