Chapter 20 At the Banquet
The freshmen were all amazed by Dumbledore's magic, but they were already starving and were more concerned about the delicious food in front of them than studying how the principal did it.
Albert knew how this was done. Dumbledore was transported up from the kitchen under the auditorium through the magic left by Hufflepuff, and the Hufflepuff Gold Cup, which was used as Voldemort's Horcrux, was A vessel that assists house elves in the first Hogwarts in making magical food transporters.
Albert naturally did not forget to ask the prefect beside him about this matter. However, the other person’s mouth was full of food and he obviously did not intend to answer the question.
The dinner was very rich,
Although it’s not exactly exquisite, it can definitely fill everyone’s stomach.
Albert got himself a piece of steak and started cutting it slowly. He was actually not very hungry. He kept eating along the way.
Everyone else ate with open stomachs. Lee Jordan, who was sitting opposite, was chewing a chicken leg in one hand, looking very happy.
After the banquet started, the ghosts also appeared one after another, popping up from all over the castle, greeting the new students, and causing a commotion.
The ghost of Gryffindor is a male noble, probably the legendary nearly headless Nick.
“Mr. Ghost.” Albert swallowed the beef and greeted the almost headless Nick.
"I think I would rather you call me Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington," said the ghost.
"Sir Nicholas de Mimsy-Porpington." Albert finished the long name. He admired his instant memory for being able to remember Nick's name. "Can you take a photo? I mean , can you appear in the photo?"
"What? I don't understand what you're saying, kid?" Sir Nicholas was glad someone could pronounce his name. He hated it when newcomers called him "Nearly Headless Nick."
“Take a photo.” Albert said, “Please be sure to take time to take a photo with me another day.”
“Okay, kid, if you want to take pictures that day, you can come to me.” Sir Nicholas agreed, and he had a good impression of this polite little guy.
“Can I ask one more question?”
“Ask, kid.”
“What is a ghost, a soul after death?”
“Wizards can leave their mark on the world and walk ethereally in the places they walked during their lives, but only a few wizards choose this path.” Sir Nicholas did not answer Albert’s question directly.
"A memory? It doesn't really look like it, so...is it really a soul?" Albert said to himself, he knew that there was a soul in the magical world.
After all, Voldemort tore his soul into pieces.
When he came back from his thoughts, he found that everyone nearby was staring at him?
“What’s wrong?” Albert asked doubtfully.
“Nothing?” Others quickly withdrew their gazes.
"I still think you should be sorted into Ravenclaw," Fred said slurringly.
“Swallow it before you speak.” Albert said angrily.
"In the Muggle world, there are no magical existences like ghosts." Albert said calmly, "Now that I have the opportunity to learn about it, I naturally don't want to miss it. By the way, being passed by a ghost will make you feel very cold. It's best in the future. Be careful."
He just secretly poked Nick with his finger, and his fingers felt very cold. Passing through them was probably equivalent to being splashed with ice water.
This would never be a pleasant thing to do in winter.
“Indeed, there are no ghosts in the Muggle world.” A girl two chairs away from Albert spoke up. Her name was Shanna Wilson.
"Honestly, when I received the letter, my family thought it was a prank. When Professor McGonagall came to visit, they almost kicked her out." Shanna Wilson found it very funny, "In fact, they didn't think much of it. Let me come here."
"My situation is similar. My mother almost called the police and arrested Professor McGonagall." Albert said with a smile. "People who live on the scientific side are usually less able to accept abnormalities. They want me to go to Eton College." study."
“Eton College, is that Eton College?” Shanna Wilson was surprised.
“What’s that?” Lee Jordan asked in confusion.
“It was one of the best schools in the UK,” explains Shanna Wilson.
“Hogwarts is the best.” George raised his eyebrows.
"Of course I know, because there is only one magic school in the UK, and Hogwarts is naturally the best." Shanna Wilson couldn't help but despise, "Ordinary people, what you call Muggles, have thousands of them. There are tens of thousands of schools, and Eton College is ranked among the top three. I don’t need to tell you what this means!”
“It seems very powerful.” George disagreed. In fact, he really didn’t understand.
“Don’t just talk about us, but also talk about you.” Albert changed the subject and looked at the other girl.
"I am half and half, my mother is a wizard and my father is a Muggle." Angelina Johnson said, "They confessed to each other very early. However, we have always lived in the Muggle world. I have been exposed to magic since I was a child. My family wasn’t too surprised when I received the invitation.”
Alia Spinnet next to her said, "I was born in a wizarding family and have been exposed to magic since I was a child. There is nothing new. When I received the letter, my family was very happy and bought me an owl."
After everyone was full, the remaining food on the plate disappeared and was replaced by desserts.
Albert took a piece of pudding and listened to the new students telling interesting things.
After the banquet, the plates on the table were cleared again, just like the plates that Tom had licked.
Professor Dumbledore stood up again and announced to everyone, "I am very happy that the school has welcomed a new professor. Professor Bud Brod will become the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor."
Sparse applause began to ring out in the auditorium.
Professor Bud Brod is an elderly man.
"There are a few more things to inform you." Dumbledore looked at all the students below and said, "First-year students, please note that students are prohibited from entering the woods on campus. In addition, the administrator Mr. Filch also asked me to remind Everyone, please don’t cast magic in the corridors during class. Finally, the review of Quidditch players will be held in the second week of this semester. Students who are interested in participating in the college varsity team please contact Mrs. Huo Qi."
“Why can’t you enter the Forbidden Forest?”
"There is probably danger in the Forbidden Forest." Albert said, glancing at the twins who were eager to try.
"If you dare to go to the Forbidden Forest, I will write and tell mother." Percy Weasley glared at his brother fiercely. He knew their characters very well.
“We won’t.” The twins promised quickly.
