Chapter 969: stalemate

Chapter 969 Stalemate

Taking the diagonal valley road from Hanzhong to Guanzhong, the exit is a similar "T" shaped terrain.

The horizontal line above the character "D" represents the Wei River flowing through the mouth of the Xie Valley.

The vertical line below the word "D" means martial arts water originating from Taibai Mountain and finally poured into the Wei River.

The Taibai Mountain where "there is a bird's way to Taibai in the west" in "The Road to Shu is Difficult".

The martial arts water is the stone river in later generations.

The exit of Xiegu Road is on the triangle area to the left of the word "D".

Sima Yi's army is stationed in the triangle area on the right side of the word "D", across the Wugong River from Wuzhangyuan.

After leaving Xiegu, go west along the Wei River to reach Chencang.

Cross the Wugong River to the east and follow the Wei River to the east to reach Chang'an.

When the red-armored Han army actually appeared at the entrance of Xiegu, Sima Yi, who had been waiting here for a long time, was rewarded and couldn't help but smile:

"I expected the Ge thieves to come out from this way a few years ago, and now it turns out to be true. The Shu captives don't know how much preparation I have made here. I will let him know how powerful I am when the time comes."

All the generals laughed.

"The Shu captives have come a long way and traveled on mountain roads for a long time. They must be tired and have low morale. In addition, they have just left the sloping valley and have not yet established a stable footing. Who dares to go to the battle to establish their power?"

If facing the legendary Feng thief, the generals may still hesitate.

After all, it is rumored that everyone under Feng Thief's command is a fierce bandit, as fierce as a mountain tiger.

But now that the old army of the Shu army on the opposite side is tired, it is time to attack, so is there any reason to be afraid?

So all the generals asked for battle one after another.

Sima Yi looked around and called his name:

“General Niu, are you sure?”

Niu Jin was immediately overjoyed when he heard this, clasped his fists and said loudly:

“Please ask Da Sima to see if the enemy will be defeated in the end!”

"Okay, I will give you three thousand soldiers and horses to go and defeat the Shu captives."

“No!”

Zhuge Liang led his army out of the Xie Valley, so naturally he would not be unprepared.

So he used the sharpest knife at hand: Wei Yan.

As the vanguard, Wei Yan led the army out of the Xie Valley firstly to explore the military situation and secondly to prepare for the garrisoning of the subsequent army.

As soon as the front army left the valley, a sentinel came to report:

“General, there are thieves attacking from the front!”

When Wei Yan heard this, he was not surprised but overjoyed:

"The Prime Minister expected that the Wei thieves would not be willing to let us leave the valley in peace, so he sent me here to see how I can defeat the enemy!"

So he ordered the front to guard against the mountain, put on his armor, mounted his horse, and led his troops to the front.

Niu Jin quickly completed his army formation and immediately led the army to charge directly.

He originally thought that the Shu army would be caught off guard by him, but unexpectedly, the opponent quickly defended against the mountain and tried to stabilize its position.

Niu Jin charged twice in a row. Although he killed some Shu troops, he was unable to shake the opponent's position.

At this moment he felt a little surprised:

“Could it be that the Shu captives had expected this early and were therefore prepared?”

Sima Yi on the other side of the river also saw this scene, and he couldn't help but said to his left and right people suspiciously:

"I have observed the army of the Shu captives. They are in good order, and their advance and retreat are orderly. Their leader must be an extraordinary person. Send someone quickly to investigate. What words are written on the commander's flag?"

“Here!”

When Tan Ma reported that the character "Wei" was used as the commander's flag, Sima Yi's face couldn't help but change:

"No, it couldn't be Wei Yan. This man must be the most brave man in Ge's army! Order General Niu to retreat immediately!"

As soon as he finished speaking, a shout suddenly sounded in front of the formation.

But seeing the Han army's drums beating loudly, a general led his army out of the valley and rushed into Niu Jin's army formation.

For a time, the two armies were fighting together.

Sima Yi was afraid that he would lose his gold, so he quickly ordered thousands more troops to be sent across the water to reinforce from both sides.

Wei Yan personally led the army and charged left and right among the Wei army. They were fighting vigorously when they heard loud shouts of killing from both wings. It turned out that another Wei army was coming.

Originally, under his leadership, the Han army had gradually suppressed Niu Jin's army. Now that this happened, Wei Yan couldn't help but become a little anxious:

"I was careless and eager to make meritorious deeds. I wanted to give the Wei thieves a blow, but unexpectedly I was entangled by them. If the first battle was unfavorable and the prime minister's army could not get out of the valley in time, this would be a big mistake!"

Charging in front of the formation, how can there be room for distraction?

As soon as his hand slowed down, the Wei thief on the opposite side raised his spear and stabbed him. At the same time, Niu Jin rushed from the side and hit the vital point.

Fortunately, the guards who were following Wei Yan tried their best to block him, and then he protected Wei Yan and took a few steps back to keep him safe.

The guard who was blocking the gun was shot down by Niu Jin, and it seemed that he would not survive.

The guards sacrificed their lives in exchange for Wei Yan's safety, but the Han army's two wings were already a little unable to withstand it.

When Wei Yan saw this, he was filled with anger. Regardless of the danger, he rushed forward again, hoping to defeat Niu Jin first.

It's just that Niu Jin can be considered a brave general. Now that his side has the upper hand, how can he easily let Wei Yan get his wish?

Seeing that the Han army was about to be defeated, at this time, the drums suddenly sounded louder at the entrance of the valley, and a Han army holding high the flag with the word "Meng" appeared at the entrance of the valley.

The reinforcements quickly formed a formation, first suppressing the Wei army on both wings with a hail of arrows, and then rushed up to meet Wei Yan.

With reinforcements, the Han army's position stabilized again.

In this battle, Sima Yi originally wanted to test the situation, but now that he saw that he could not gain any advantage, he began to withdraw his troops while both sides were breathing.

The Han army did not take the opportunity to catch up. After the two sides broke away from contact, the Wei army quickly retreated to the east bank of Wugong River.

Wei Yan was originally a proud and arrogant person. He almost lost someone this time, and his face seemed a little uneasy.

When facing Meng Yan who saved him, he felt a little embarrassed.

However, Meng Yan was a Yi general who surrendered to the Han Dynasty when the Prime Minister of the Han Dynasty pacified Nanzhong, so he had always acted cautiously.

At that time, King Feng Gui was sent by the Prime Minister of the Han Dynasty to govern Yuexun County. Meng Yan was the nominal governor of Yuexun County, but in fact he was the scapegoat who had to wipe the blame for King Feng Gui at any time.

Feng Gui Wang’s big **** was wiped off. At most, when he led the army north to Hanzhong, Meng Yan once said a famous saying:

What King Feng Gui said was indeed all lies. You really can’t believe a word of it.

Now facing Wei Yan, Meng Yan knew that he was not easy to get along with, so when he saw Wei Yan's face looking ugly, he pointed at the other side of the martial arts water and cursed:

"The Wei thieves are so cunning that they came to attack the general while he was out of the valley. It's really abominable!"

Wei Yan felt relieved when he saw that he didn't mention the incident of rescuing him just now, but instead scolded the Wei thief.

Can’t help but gritted his teeth and cursed:

"How could the Wei thieves take advantage if they hadn't taken advantage of me?"

Then he raised his hand:

“Thank you so much for your help, General Meng.”

Meng Yan waved his hand and said with a smile:

"General Wei and I are both fighting for the country, so why should we be divided between you and me? Besides, I led the army on the orders of the prime minister. The general wants to thank you, and I also want to thank the prime minister."

The first half was okay, but the second half made Wei Yan feel a little uncomfortable:

Since the Prime Minister has sent me as the vanguard, but also ordered Meng Yan to follow closely, doesn't he expect that I will suffer this defeat?

He felt that he had lost face, but now that he thought about it again, he felt even more unhappy.

Meng Yan saw something suddenly wrong on his face. He was a little baffled at the moment. He didn't know what caused him to be like this.

The two of them exchanged a few polite words, then led their own troops and horses separately, and began to prepare for the arrival of the army behind them.

Two days later, a large flag with the word "Zhuge" written on it appeared at the entrance of Xiegu, marking the final arrival of the main force of the Han army's Northern Expedition.

Sima Yi, who had been watching the Han army’s movements closely, saw that the Han army did not cross the Wugong River. Instead, it turned to the west and climbed to Wuzhangyuan. He couldn’t help but clasp his hands and laugh:

“If Zhuge Liang crosses the Wugong River to the east, is surrounded by mountains to the south, and the Wei River to the north, then he wants to take Chang’an directly, and we will have to fight to the death.”

"Now he is heading west to the Five Zhang Plains. I already know what he wants, so how can I let him get his wish?"

So he summoned Chief Sima's military advisor Du Xi, and then ordered Wang Shuang, a fierce general, to assist him and lead 30,000 elite troops to cross the Wei River north.

Sima Yi was dispatching troops and generals, but Zhuge Liang was not in a hurry. He ordered the army to be stationed in the center of Wuzhangyuan.

Then he was asked to push a four-wheeled cart to the bank of Wugong River to observe the Wei camp in person.

The current prime minister of the Han Dynasty is already showing his age.

Not only do my legs feel weak, but I also need to ride in a four-wheeled vehicle and be pushed around when I go out.

At the same time, my eyes have also become presbyopic.

He raised his eyes to look into the distance, but saw that the other shore was blurry and unclear, so he raised his telescope to look.

But when I saw the Wei military camps on the other side, there were many camps, high forts, deep trenches, and countless deer antlers standing on the other side, I couldn't help but be a little surprised:

“Sima Yicheng is a formidable enemy. With such a tight camp, if we forcefully attack it, it will probably cost a lot of soldiers’ lives.”

Wei Yan, who was following, heard this and was rather disapproving:

"When the Wei thieves saw my army arriving for the first time, they didn't even think about attacking me while I was still on a weak footing. Instead, they took such strict precautions early. Is this cowardly?"

“And our army has an engineering camp with stone cannons that can fire large rocks. As long as we don’t stop day and night, why worry about not destroying the camp?”

“I see that the antlers of the deer are all made of wood. All they need to do is use some oil fire from a stone cannon to destroy them all!”

When Zhuge Liang heard this, he just smiled and said nothing.

Feng Yong had used oil and fire to attack the city ten years ago. How could Sima Yi not understand this?

Just looking at the many trenches he dug, we knew they were used to isolate them from fire.

Just now I looked at it with a telescope. The barrier was mostly made of clay. Even if there was wood, the front was coated with wet mud, so I knew it was prepared for fire prevention.

Looking at the continuous camps on the other side, no matter how powerful the stone cannon is, there is no way to destroy all the opposing camps!

Even if there is an inexhaustible supply of stones, what if we can smash all the camps?

The other side just has to make camp step by step, and continue to dig trenches and build barriers in the rear. Do this over and over again? Do you want to move to Chang'an City step by step like this?

If you really want to do this, it is feasible in theory.

But how long does it actually have to wait?

Besides, soldiers are in great danger.

If the battle continues for a long time, the soldiers will be tired of fighting and they will be far away from their hometown. By then, the morale of the army will be low before they reach Chang'an City.

There is still food and grass. If the war lasts for a long time, no matter how much food there is in Shu, it cannot support such consumption.

If you really want to fight like this, if it lasts for a long time, and in the end you have to bet that the opponent can't hold on before you do, it's really a bad idea.

Hence, the stone cannon is indeed a powerful weapon for siege, but in field battles, at most it can smash down the obstacles and barriers placed by the thieves in front.

It is too natural to rely on stone cannons to destroy the enemy.

Feng Yong told Zhuge Liang these things, and Zhuge Liang also deduced them, so he knew them well.

It's just that Wei Yan naturally didn't know this. When he saw the Prime Minister was silent, he understood that the Prime Minister disagreed with what he said, and he was secretly unhappy.

The Prime Minister was too lazy to look at him.

Over the years, Wei Yan has repeatedly said in private that his talents cannot be fully utilized, so he is placed above him by juniors. His complaints are beyond words.

How could the Prime Minister not know these things?

He just pretended not to know.

In the first Northern Expedition, opportunities were fair to everyone.

Wei Yan was still assigned as the forward, while Feng Yong was assigned to the rear to transport grain.

The results of it?

The forwards could not capture Xiangwu, but the grain transporters were able to capture Longguan without losing a single person.

The vanguard lost many soldiers in Xiangwu, and those who transported grain supported the enemy and solved the crisis of the Northern Expedition.

Who is to blame?

Not to mention the battle at Xiaoguan, could Wei Yan defeat 100,000 Wei thieves?

So as long as he is the prime minister of the Han Dynasty, Feng Yong is the future pillar of the Han Dynasty that he values most.

Ignoring Wei Yan, who looked unhappy, Zhuge Liang just asked people to push the four-wheeled cart back and forth along the west bank of Wugong River to check on the enemy's situation.

The movement on the east bank had already alerted the Wei army, which had been paying close attention here. Sima Yi heard about it and personally brought people over to check.

One is riding a horse, the other is riding a chariot, a great Sima of the Wei state, and a prime minister of the Han state, and they meet like this.

The wheel of history, rolling at this point, seems to have returned to its original track again.

At almost the same time, sergeants from both sides shouted loudly: "Who is on the other side?"

“Sima Yi, the Great Sima of the Great Wei Dynasty.”

“Zhuge Liang, Prime Minister of the Han Dynasty.”

Looking through the time and space of history, the Prime Minister and Da Sima looked at each other across the martial arts water.

East Coast: “I’ve heard of your name for a long time, and I’m honored to meet you today!”

Both parties laughed.

"Gong Jin personally led the army out of Hanzhong. Do you want to cross eastward? Do you want to cross north?"

"You want me to cross east? Do you want me to cross north?"

Laughing again.

Just two sentences, it was already a round of secret confrontation.

“I would like Gongnan to return, so what?”

“I’m afraid I won’t be able to do what you want.”

“Then let me see whether the Duke is crossing eastward or northward.”

“But we’ll see.”

Chatting a few words was enough, and the two of them said goodbye.

As soon as he returned to the army, Wei Yan said impatiently:

"Prime Minister, when we were at the waterfront, Sima Yi asked the Prime Minister whether he wanted to cross eastward or northward. It seems that he probably knew what the Prime Minister meant. Why don't we let the last general go north across the Wei River first and occupy the high ground on the north bank?"

"If not, it will be very difficult for the Wei thief to react!"

Zhuge Liang didn’t want to agree, but after thinking about it, he nodded and said:

“Forget it, I will divide you into ten thousand men, and we will cross the Wei River to the north immediately tomorrow.”

Wei Yan was overjoyed: "Here!"

At the same time, after Sima Yi returned to the army, he said to his left and right:

"Tomorrow, the Shu captives are afraid that they will cross the Wei River north and occupy the northern plateau to defeat the Mian County army!"

They asked: "Zhuge Liang went to the east bank of Wugong River today to investigate the military situation. Isn't this preparing for the eastward crossing of Wugong River? Why did Da Sima say that he wanted to cross the Wei River north?"

Sima Yi chuckled:

“This is what is said: what is imaginary is real, what is real is imaginary. If he really wanted to cross the Wugong River eastward, he would not have gone up to Wuzhangyuan. If he went up to Wuzhangyuan, he wanted to cross the Wei River and climb to the northern plateau, cutting off the east and west!"

Only waiting until the second day, we saw a Han army beginning to cross the Wei River northward and heading towards the highlands on the north bank of the Wei River.

So all the generals in the Wei army obeyed the great Sima, who had the foresight to do so.

At this time, Du Xi, who had been sent out by Sima Yi a few days ago, looked at the Han army below Beiyuan and laughed:

“Da Sima has already expected that you will come, and has asked me to wait here for a long time!”

Wei Yan was shocked when he heard that the sentinel said there were Wei thieves in the North Plains. He hurried to the front of the army to check, and saw numerous figures on the North Plains and high fortifications.

He couldn't help stamping his feet angrily:

“It’s too late! If we had come here earlier, why would we be like this?”

After testing it out and finding that it was indeed difficult to capture, Wei Yan had to send people back to Weinan to explain the situation to Zhuge Liang and request more reinforcements.

Unexpectedly, Zhuge Liang rejected his request and even ordered him to lead the army back directly.

Wei Yan received the order, but reluctantly led his army back to Weinan.

After he returned to the army, he went to the commander's camp to ask for an audience.

"Prime Minister, when we came here this time, we couldn't cross the water in time, and the attack was in vain. This is a taboo in the art of war, Prime Minister! If there is any disharmony, it will be too late to regret it!"

Zhuge Liang, who was looking down at military documents, raised his head and asked slowly:

“Are you teaching me how to do things?”

The following are free of charge:

In the previous chapter, the conversation between Tubo and Jiang Wei, as well as the map Guan Ji looked at, have shown that Tubo knew that Sima Yi had plans in Ziwu Ridge.

It’s just that he didn’t know that Sima Yi valued Ziwu Ridge more than anyone imagined, so he mentioned it in the last chapter that he would most likely get a **** blow on the hardest turtle shell~www..com~Details Keep it in context and don't take it out of context, otherwise I will be accused of criticizing readers again.

It has a very bad influence. Sirs, please don’t harm me!

Let’s talk about Qin Zhidao and Ziwu Ridge.

Before that, let us first clarify a concept, that is, the Ziwuling Mountains and Ziwuling Mountains.

Ziwuling Mountains refers to the mountain range represented by Ziwuling, which includes Hengling, Xieliang, Laoyeling, Qinglong Mountain, Ziwuling, etc., and spans the two provinces of Shaanxi and Gansu.

This mountain range is located between Luoshui and Jingshui. In order to distinguish it from Ziwu Ridge below, we use its ancient name instead and call it Qiaoshan Mountain Range.

As for Ziwuling, it refers to the main representative mountain range in the Qiaoshan Mountains.

Ziwuling is located at the southern end of the Qiaoshan Mountains, directly north of Chang'an.

So some book friends asked: Why do the locals want to smash the Qinzhi Road in Ziwuling? Can't they just go around it? For example, walk along the Luoshui River Valley.

The answer is: No.

The Qinzhi Road starts from Xianyang and goes north to Ziwu Ridge. It winds in zigzags on the various hills of Ziwu Ridge until it reaches a place called Xinglong Pass.

At first glance, this name means Guancheng on Ziwu Mountains.

Everyone should remember this place.

Because here, Qinzhidao is divided into two parts.

One is the main road, which is the original straight road built by the hand-made Kuangmo. It was used until the end of the Western Han Dynasty. Later, due to unknown reasons, it was destroyed on a large scale by the imperial court.

There is another branch line. This line was used in the Eastern Han Dynasty and was used at least until the Tang Dynasty. After the Tang Dynasty, it began to be used by the people and was not abandoned until the Qing Dynasty.

Let’s talk about the main road first.

The main road turns eastward from Xinglong Pass, and then follows the tributaries of Jushui, which finally flow into the lower reaches of Luoshui.

So the main road of Qinzhidao runs parallel to Luoshui for a long time.

It’s just that Qin Zhidao is on the ridge, while Luoshui is in the valley. I’m not sure how far apart they are.

This section of the road is basically the current line between Huangling County, Fuxian County and Ganquan County. If you are interested, you can check the map. It happens to be the middle and lower reaches of Luoshui.

Then, after arriving at Ganquan County in the north, Qin Zhidao separated from Luoshui.

Luoshui comes from the northwest.

Qin Zhidao, on the other hand, turned to the northeast, and then extended along the remaining veins of Qiaoshan to the grassland sand in the north.

Hyundai G65 Expressway also turned in the same direction as Qinzhidao in Ganquan County and did not follow the upper reaches of Luoshui River Valley at all.

Understand?

With the technology of modern infrastructure madmen, there is no need to easily try the upper reaches of Luoshui River. Unless the country turtle has wings, it is estimated that he can go south along Luoshui River from the north.

So, the main road of Qinzhidao does not always run due north after starting from Xianyang as everyone imagined.

It actually goes along the eastern edge of Beidi County in Wei State, rather than in the middle of Beidi County.

Let’s talk about the branch line.

The Qinzhidao branch line branched from Xinglong Pass began to be used in the early Eastern Han Dynasty.

It is the Qinzhidao that fits everyone’s imagination, because after leaving Xinglong Pass, the branch line continues directly north and exits the Qiaoshan Mountains.

In addition to these two lines, there is also the fictitious western line of Qinzhidao.

This was proposed by an old man named Shi Nianhai in the 1970s.

Due to insufficient conditions at the time, the archeology of Qin Zhidao was limited to geological observation, surface survey and literature research, and it was impossible to conduct extensive excavations.

So the old gentleman proposed a Qin Zhi Road route based on the trend of the Qiaoshan Mountains:

After the Qin Zhidao winds its way up Ziwu Mountains, it finally turns to the west, from the western mountains to the grassland.

Later this line was falsified, that is, it did not exist at all.

But no matter what, the southern and northern sections of Qinzhidao have always clearly existed, but how to go about the middle section is more controversial.

Especially the southern section, that is, the ridges from Xianyang to Ziwuling, the geological changes over the past two thousand years have not been able to bury it.

And this southern section has one and only one.

No matter how many roads there are on the north side of the Qiaoshan Mountains, they will eventually converge at Ziwu Ridge.

So if you want to go south from Jiuyuan, you can only go to Ziwu Ridge.

Because only Ziwuling has a road to cross it and enter Guanzhong.

If you don’t want to take the ordinary path and want to learn from Deng Ai, let’s not talk about whether you can get out of the mountains. Even if you can get out, how many people can you bring?

Deng Ai also has the Yinping Trail. There are no ready-made trails for you to walk in the Qiaoshan Mountains.

Thousands of people, even if you are a countryman, can reach tens of thousands of people because of dry food, but they have no horses, no siege equipment, only spears, broadswords and crossbows on hand, and they can't even carry much iron armor.

Thousands of people are exhausted after running out of the mountains and forests to enjoy the halo of cheating.

Then there is Guo Huai in the east and Xian Yufu in the west. They are not Adou, who will surrender when they see someone coming, and they are not leading young soldiers who have never seen the battlefield.

At this moment, what else can a country bumpkin do besides giving away his head? There's not even a way out!

Guo Huai got three hundred yuan for the head of a local turtle, plus a thousand oceans as a bounty. When he returned to the city, he took out a big storm sword...

Ahem, that’s wrong.

Again!

Finally, some people may still have doubts. If you can’t go upstream from the east to the Luoshui River Valley, what about the west?

Let’s not talk about whether there is a road in Simian. Even if there is, for example, we assume that the road Mr. Shi Lao said is open.

But the locals don’t want to go to Ziwu Ridge in the end, so they can only go south by the Malian River.

Then he will be pleasantly surprised to find that...the Malian River has finally been filled with water!

He saw Xian Yufu waiting for him on the other side!

In order to take full advantage of his superior military strength, Cao Dasima knew how to force the locals out of the Jingshui River Valley. The locals and Deng Zhi's army were crowded together. Do you think they would feel crowded?

The soil is going around such a large circle, what is the picture?

Wouldn’t it be over if we just come directly from Longyou?

Finally, let’s talk about the information about Qin Zhidao.

Because in the previous chapter, many readers did not know much about Qin Zhidao, so I only mentioned it.

Later, I went back to check the information again, and also updated the knowledge base.

Let’s start with the historical data:

"Historical Records: Biography of Meng Tian": "The First Emperor wanted to travel all over the world. He passed through Jiuyuan and reached Ganquan. He then sent Meng Tian through the passage. From Jiuyuan to Ganquan, he cut mountains and valleys for a thousand and eight hundred miles."

"Historical Records·The Chronicles of the First Emperor of Qin": "In the thirty-fifth year, in addition to the road, the road to Jiuyuan reached Yunyang, with cut mountains and cut valleys leading directly to it."

"Historical Records·The Chronicles of the First Emperor of Qin": "On Bingyin (July 37), the First Emperor collapsed on a sand dune platform... We traveled from Jingxing to Jiuyuan... We traveled from Zhidao to Xianyang to mourn."

Tai Shi Gong was from the era of Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty. There are also records from the same era as Tai Shi Gong:

"Historical Records·Xiaowen Chronicle": In the third year (177 BC): "In May, the Xiongnu entered the north and settled in Henan as bandits. The emperor was lucky to have Ganquan at the beginning"; in June "Xinmao, the emperor came from Ganquan as a slave, because he was lucky to have Taiyuan After seeing all the officials, they all gave it to them."

"Historical Records: The Benji of Xiaowu" records the border patrol edict issued by Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty in the first month of the Yuan Dynasty (110 BC): "I will patrol the borders, select troops to revitalize the brigade, adhere to the martial arts festival, appoint twelve generals, and personally lead Shi Yan. Travel from Yunyang, visit Shangjun, Xihe and Wuyuan in the north, leave the Great Wall, and go to Shanyutai in the north..."

One of the top ten archaeological discoveries in China in 2009 was the discovery of the entire Qin Zhidao.

Attention, it is excavation, that is, the upper soil layer is peeled away to reveal the original Qin Zhidao.

Do you know how wide it is at its widest point?

More than sixty meters.

Equivalent to the current two-way eight lanes!

To be honest, if it hadn’t been a national excavation and then authoritative release, I wouldn’t have believed it at all!

The Qinzhi Road on Ziwu Ridge is more than ten meters wide. During the archaeological work, the archaeological team rode up in off-road vehicles.

In other words, after more than 2,000 years, the Qinzhi Road on the Ziwu Mountains, which is in good condition, can still be used by off-road vehicles.

Of course, that may not be the original Qin Zhidao, and the original Qin Zhidao may be hidden underneath.

But this road is a direct proof of the Qinzhi road cutting mountains and valleys.

What are the mountains and valleys?

The ridge was directly flattened.

Fill the trough.

The Qin Zhidao unearthed from archaeology has some low valleys filled with soil layers as high as seven or eight meters.

The soil layer of the road is made of roasted loess, which is then mixed with salt and alkali, and finally tamped with iron or copper cones.

After it was built, it took two thousand years.

The data I mentioned are all archaeological data, and CCTV has produced a documentary.

Several parts of this Qinzhi Road have been designated as national-level protected cultural relics, and the rest are listed as provincial-level protected cultural relics by Shaanxi, Gansu, and Inner Mongolia.

During archeology, a large number of sites and cultural relics from the Qin, Han and Tang Dynasties were unearthed from both sides of the road.

These ruins include beacons, military stations, and city barriers.

Historical data and cultural relics mutually corroborate each other. This is a historical fact, although it is difficult to believe that the ancients could carry out such a large project.

In other countries, just a few verses sung by bards can be regarded as historical facts.

Pointing to the few stone buildings, they can be said to be the birthplace of civilization.

Some countries don’t even have these things, so they steal and rob them and then take them as their own, and yet they are still recognized by the world.

However, China’s originally glorious history has been repeatedly belittled by others in many cases.

Be confident, China, you will eventually have to go your own way independently.

No matter how good the rules set by others are, they belong to others and can only be learned from and not blindly obeyed.

Because this is how our ancestors came through, and we have our own glorious civilization.
